Are you a teacher who's looking to go online during the lockdown? Many teachers are facing issues in conducting classes in non-traditional ways. We've some useful tips that can be used to make the process of online-teaching easier for you! Scroll down:
Cut Down on Time
Online classes cannot be conducted like regular classes in a traditional classroom. Suppose if you take 1 hour for a lesson in a regular class, you must cut it down to a 20-minute lecture by just highlighting the important points.
When students are in a classroom, they will provide you with their undivided attention but it is not possible when they are sitting somewhere else listening to a video recorded by you. Make sure that you keep your videos crisp yet informative so that your students do not get bored and switch to a movie instead.
Stick to Recorded Videos
If you were planning to go online through direct interaction and conferences then you must drop the idea. Online conference-based classes can lead to chaotic confusion if more than one student comes up with a question. You must stick to recorded videos and provide your students with lessons in concise formats.
Provide Them Links
It is obvious that you won't be able to cover lessons well in your videos and to make up for that, you must provide the students with additional resources. It will be of great help to provide the links to some useful books and notes made by you so that they can have a better idea about the topic or the subject.
In order to judge the progress of your students, you can simply create an online quiz conference. This will have two benefits - you can judge your students' progress and second, they get a chance to interact with their fellow classmates.
Give Attention to Weaker Students
Every class has students who can't keep up with the academic routine. You can take separate conference classes with these students to help them out.
